Wash-Moisturize... Steer Clear of Germs

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

Today as we battle COVID-19 with lockdowns and social distancing, we’ve realized how very important it is to wash, wash and rewash our hands frequently. I’m running out of moisturizer and without that, all this washing is gonna make my hands unpleasantly dry. The good thing is, I make my own, with supplies I have at hand! I’d like to come out on the other side of this pandemic in good health and with soft hands too 😊

You may want to try making this simple moisturizing spray. It's perfect for all times and even more relevant during these tough times.

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 200 gms aloe vera leaf

  • Two tablespoons of coconut oil

Preparation method

  1. Slice the green skin off the aloe leaf and scoop out all the gel within. This will take up most of those 10 mins btw!

  2. Rinse and toss into a blender together with the 2 tablespoons of coconut oil.

  3. Blend until there are no aloe chunks left. Viola, you now have an amazing 100% pure liquid moisturizer. I like to fill mine into a mini sprayer for ease of using.

Did you know

Aloe vera has cooling and healing properties. Fresh aloe works wonders on minor scrapes, cuts and acne like magic! It's a great plant to have at home, grows in a pot, and is fairly easy to grow, just in case you fear not having a green thumb.

Coconut oil is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, giving that additional protective cover. Plus it is a source of vitamin E, something our skin sooo needs. Go with virgin coconut oil whenever possible.

Do let me know whether you made it and how you liked it. Feel free to share your tips in the comments. Stay safe. Live in harmony.
